Bank's reply
'Customers who still prefer ATM cards can visit any branch to replace their debit cards.'
MS OOI HUEY TYNG, Senior Vice-President & Head, Unsecured Lending & Cards, Consumer Banking Group (Singapore), DBS Bank: 'We thank Mr Chia Chee Keong ('DBS debit card'; Monday) for his feedback.
Since January, DBS Bank has started to replace selected ATM cards with EMV chipped debit-cum-ATM cards at no additional cost. These cardholders can enjoy the flexibility of different transaction options, including ATM transactions, signature-based transactions and online purchases, as well as rewards and promotions at selected merchants. For customers' peace of mind, DBS has provided them with the option of reducing their daily debit spending limit to $0, if they are concerned about unauthorised signature-based and online/phone transactions. Customers can also enable or disable the overseas withdrawal function at any DBS/POSB ATMs conveniently located around the island. Customers who still prefer to hold ATM cards can visit any DBS/POSB branch to replace their debit cards with ATM cards.'
