Let's have a First World political debate
I REFER to Ms Indranee Rajah's response to the Workers' Party (WP) vision of a First World Parliament ('WP's fictional First World Parliament'; Tuesday).

Indeed, there is no successful model that the WP, or anybody else for that matter, can point to. As long as systems involve people, there can never be an absolutely fair system.
Having said that, are we to abandon the hope of achieving something that the majority of citizens may perceive as fair and just? For a start, let us try to have a First World political debate, process and platform.
In this respect, nobody can deny that there are really First World countries that conduct political debates in a civilised, dignified and respectable manner.
