No let-up in lighting up
Stark rise in number of daily smokers among 18-29 age group; figure up even among under-18s

MORE people are lighting up here. Last year, 14.3 per cent of adults here were smoking daily, up from 12.6 per cent six years ago.
The increase in the number of daily smokers among young adults aged 18 to 29 is even more stark. It stood at 16.3 per cent last year, up from 12.3 per cent in 2004. These numbers come from the National Health Survey done last year.
